Phil Kurtz, a former resident of Coatesville, IN, purchased the motel and relocated to Parke County, IN in 1998. He chose Parke County for the warm welcoming and friendly hometown feel it has. Over the years, Phil has added his own personal touch by doing a complete remodel of each individual motel room himself-including the craftsmanship of our rustic knotty pine walls and ceilings. His hope for the motel was to give our guests a nice, cozy, quiet, clean and friendly place to stay-giving you the comfort and feel of “a home away from home.”

In his free time, Phil is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys deer hunting, turkey hunting and fishing at Rockville Lake Park and Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area.
